ABOUT ME


Hey, friend. I’m Shelby. My middle name is Elizabeth, and I like yoga. So that explains the url. But getting here was a bit more complicated.

I grew up an athlete – dance, gymnastics, ice skating, college track and field, professional cheerleading. And I grew up outside – hiking, rock climbing, camping. These were the places I felt safest, quietest, at home. Even at a very young age, whenever big feelings came up you could find me outside running laps or climbing to hide in trees or furiously dancing to my dad’s Pink Floyd albums.

It was like even then I knew that the body is the storehouse of emotion and nature carries the vibration of healing.

Now, later in life, I’ve had the privilege to put science to this idea, and upon becoming a Yoga Alliance RYT200 through Brett Larkin’s Uplifted YTT program, I knew this was a gift I needed to share with the world.

Everywhere we turn in the “real world” it seems like we are being told to ignore what our bodies are telling us we need. We need to “sit still,” “settle down,” “chill out,” all the while that stagnant emotion gets stuffed down into our tissues to hide in the fascia that holds our muscles and bones together.

When the body isn’t given the movement it needs to process and integrate our experiences, joints stiffen, muscles tighten, bodies ache, dis-ease happens.

What if we tuned in? What if we got really curious? What if we listened to our body’s wisdom? It’s in there. I can help you find it. And when we do, you will be able to unleash the healing that’s been locked away.
